General information
Thematic Main Tasks The Institute for Environmental Biotechnology is concerned with development and practical use of environmental biotechnological processes. The term 'environmental biotechnology' is interpreted in a wide thematical range meeting the present ecological and economical needs. Treatment and remediation procedures are developed or optimised for polluted water and soil. In parallel innovative methods to avoid future waste and pollution are researched meeting the needs for a sustainable development. Details under ‘Research’. Persons The applied research orientation is best demonstrated in the composition of the departments personnel: the team consists of 60 persons at the average whereof 80% are project collaborators and the residiual is permanent staff. Internationality is lived day by day, since up to 10 different nations are represented by free financed colleagues and students.
